LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

Ministers of the Altar (Altar Servers):
Ministers of the Altar serve the parish by assisting the priest at the altar during Mass. Anyone in the third grade or older who has received First Communion may be an Altar Server.  Training is provided every other month.  Servers are scheduled to serve at Mass.

Ministers of Communion (Eucharistic Ministers):
Ministers of Communion help to distribute the Blessed Sacrament at Mass and to shut in's at home. These ministers must have received the sacrament of confirmation, be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church and be over the age of 18. Ministers are scheduled on a routine basis and must commit to being present when they are scheduled.  Meetings are called twice a year or when needed.  Ministers are chosen by the parish priest.

Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers):
Ministers of Hospitality assist in the facilitation of the celebration of the liturgy by providing a worthy environment for the community to worship.  In addition to performing the traditional role of an usher, these ministers open doors and hearts as they greet all who come to worship.  Volunteers are greatly needed.

Ministers of Music (Musicians & Choir):
The music ministry assists the presiders in the proclamation of the word, to lead the assembly in song, and to sing music that both praises God and provides an atmosphere which enables the assembly to worship God and be addressed by His Spirit.  A secondary mission of the music ministry is to provide an opportunity for the members of the ministry to express their love of God in song, to use and improve their musical gifts, and to grow in fellowship with one another. Singers and musicians are needed for participation in all Sunday Masses.

Ministers of the Word (Lectors):
Ministers of the Word proclaim the Word of God at parish Masses.  One must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church and be willing to serve with the gift of proclaiming on a regular basis.  Auditions are required, and training is provided.  Meetings are held when needed.

Sacristan:
Sacristans are responsible for preparation of the Altar before each Mass.  Training is provided and meetings are held when needed.
